Surrounded by the Pirin, Rila and the Rhodope mountains, Bansko lies at the foot of the beautiful Pirin Mountains. The Pirin National Park is the largest protected site in Bulgaria and is included in the world heritage list compiled by UNESCO for the preservation of its cultural, historical and natural heritage. A well-preserved old town, with meandering cobbled streets and merchants’ homes clustered behind high stone walls.

Bansko is Bulgaria’s newest and most rapidly developing ski resort. The construction of the new gondola and up to date ski facilities has made the resort extremely popular.  Bansko combines great skiing, beautiful landscape and historical interest as well as attracting visitors throughout the year to its cultural monuments.

Ulen a Sofia-based company has invested 40 million Euros to install a state of the art facility with equipment specifically designed for piste and weather conditions on the Pirin slopes.With over 62km of pisted runs situated within the breathtaking Pirin Mountains, offer skiiing for all abilities with a piste mix of Beginners - 35%; Intermediate - 40%; Advanced - 25% .  45 snow cannons cover over 50% of ski runs. 

Bansko also offers a unique 16-kilometer uninterrupted ski run, starting from Todorka Peak (2600 m) at the highest point of the ski center, all the way to base station of the Gondola lift at the outskirts of town. The last 7 km of the slope are floodlit, and the entire length is equipped with artificial snow machines to ensure a great skiing experience even in warmer conditions.
